Proof-of-Concept Applications Open for Emerging Technologies by Science Agora and Hellenic Development Bank.

Το PoC for Emerging Technologies

Applications Open for the Proof-of-Concept Programme for Emerging Technologies

The Science Agora Technology Transfer Network announces the opening of applications for the Proof-of-Concept for Emerging Technologies (PoC for Emerging Technologies) programme, funded under the “Competitiveness 2021–2027” Programme, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and supported by the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB).

The PoC for Emerging Technologies programme is aimed at research teams and university spin-offs from universities and research centres across Greece that are developing innovative technology products or services and seeking to test their solutions in real-world market conditions, while advancing their technological and commercial maturity.

The programme aims to accelerate the development of research outcomes and the pilot implementation of innovative solutions, helping to bridge the gap between research and the market. By combining funding, guidance and market connectivity, the programme supports the development of sustainable business solutions with meaningful economic and social impact, contributing to the continued growth of Greece’s innovation ecosystem.

Programme Structure and Implementation Phases

The PoC programme has a total duration of eight months and is implemented across three distinct phases:

Phase A – Application Submission

Interested research teams and spin-offs submit an application outlining the technology they are developing, the need it addresses, the composition of their team and the innovation’s readiness for pilot testing.

Phase B – PoC Design

Participants receive guidance on the design of their PoC, including the definition of objectives, milestones, timelines and required resources. They also participate in market networking activities. Following an evaluation process, the teams selected for funding proceed to the implementation of their pilot applications.

Phase C – PoC Implementation

Selected teams implement their PoC in a real-world environment, receiving funding as well as coaching and mentoring support.

What the Programme Offers

Participants will benefit from:

  • PoC Grant funding to support the implementation of pilot applications.
  • Advisory support and mentoring from experienced market professionals, the Hellenic Development Bank and the Science Agora Network.
  • Networking and pitching opportunities with partners and investors, providing targeted feedback to strengthen the commercial readiness of their innovations.

Applications

Science Agora and the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) invite research teams and spin-offs from Greek universities and research centres working on emerging technologies and at the PoC stage to submit their applications and take advantage of the opportunity to test their innovations in real-world conditions.

Interested applicants are invited to submit their applications through the relevant application form. Applications will remain open until 4 May 2026. Further information is available on the HDB and Science Agora websites. Applicants may also contact Science Agora at [email protected].
