A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today, Wednesday, between the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) and the Hellenic BioCluster (HBio), aiming to foster and promote entrepreneurship in the health and biotechnology sectors through innovation and international outreach.
The two organizations will explore potential partnerships to support innovative entrepreneurship and export growth. Through the exchange of knowledge, synergies will be examined between the initiatives organized by the Hellenic BioCluster and the corresponding actions of HDB. The objective is to accurately identify the sector’s needs and financing gaps, highlight best practices in Greece and internationally, and at the same time support entrepreneurship and innovation in the health ecosystem.

Emphasis will be placed on creating the conditions to accelerate collaborations among Greek companies for the development of internationally competitive schemes, while services will be offered—through structures to be established—for promoting the contribution and role of the Greek life sciences industry within the global community. In addition, HBIO members will be granted access to the digital networking and matchmaking platform “InnoAgora – powered by HDB”, aiming to facilitate connections with international ecosystems, further enhance international outreach, attract investment capital, and identify commercial partners.
The Vice Chairman of the Hellenic Development Bank, Mr. Pantelis Tzortzakis, stated:
“We are delighted to strengthen our cooperation with HBio, a cluster that delivers significant value to the ecosystem of companies operating in the biohealth sector. With HDB’s support at the level of strategic planning, improved access to financial instruments, and networking through the digital InnoAgora platform, we will enhance the competitiveness and international presence of these companies.”
Ms. Ioanna Kouklis, President of the cluster, added:
“The Hellenic BioCluster systematically pursues strategic partnerships to foster entrepreneurship in the health and biotechnology sectors. The business and research activities of our members are characterized by high levels of innovation and international orientation, and we believe that HDB is a key partner in achieving our objectives.”
